Robert “Bob” Lee Wall, 80, of Bloomington, died Monday, March 18, 2019 in I. U. Health Hospice House. He was born April 16, 1938 in Bloomington to Charles Wall and Bessie Warfield Wall. He was retired from Sabin Corp. On June 27, 1961 while in the U.S. Navy and stationed in Japan he married the love of his life, Kazuko Mikomi Wall and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage before her death.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Russell Elliott, of Ellettsville; Sandra and Anthony Hastings and Bessie and Monty Thomas, all of Bloomington; two sons, Roger Wall and Bobby Wall, both of Bloomington; ten grandchildren, Dillon Fleener, Sidney Dixon, Chase Hastings, Wayne Hastings, Kennedy Wall, Garret Wall, Monty E. Thomas, Amanda K. Thomas, Steven Thomas and Molly Wall; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Loretta Wall of Reelsville; a sister, Anna Goins of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kazuko Wall; a son, David Wayne Wall who died in infancy; and 7 siblings.
Robert enjoyed playing golf with his brothers; the shooting sports; traveling, especially trips to Tennessee; fishing; and in his youth playing basketball and swimming in the local quarry holes. He enjoyed spending time with his large extended family and liked to look at all of them and say “to think I started all of this”. In addition to serving his country in the United States Navy, Robert had worked for 25 years for Nordberg Advertising.
Graveside Services are planned for Friday, March 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM in Valhalla Memory Gardens, 310 N Johnson Ave, with Pastor Michael Douglas officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Deremiah-Frye Mortuary.
