Robert Harry Powers

Robert Harry Powers, 77, of Harrodsburg died Friday, January 11, 2019 in I.U. Health Hospice House. He was born November 4, 1941 in Pennsylvania to Elmer Leroy Powers and Mary Elizabeth Brungard Powers. He was retired from Westinghouse.

Survivors include his daughter, Esther Astley and her husband Roger of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a son, Elmer Powers of Harrodsburg; two grandsons, Daniel and Caleb Astley; a brother, Clarence James Powers of Virginia; a sister, Nellie Ann Young of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris Ethel Strain Powers; three brothers, Kenneth Gray Powers, Leroy David Powers and Thomas F. Powers; and one sibling who died at birth.

He was a member of Bloomington Church of Christ.

Graveside Services are scheduled for Monday, January 21, 2019 at 10:00 AM in Clover Hill Cemetery with Evangelist Walter Hunter officiating. There will be a Memory dinner in lieu of visitation on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 1:00 PM in Bloomington Church of Christ, 4440 W Gifford Rd, Bloomington, IN 47403.
