Obituary of Robert D. and Ruth White
Robert D. White, age 77 and Ruth Ann White, age 76, of Ellettsville, died Friday at the Meadowood Retirement Community in Bloomington. They were married on June 17, 1962. Ruth Ann was born June 8, 1937 in Seymour, Indiana, the daughter of Walter and Edith (Powers) Nentrup. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. Many years ago she worked behind the candy counter at Murphy’s Dept. Store. Robert was born August 23, 1936 in Indianapolis, the son of Herman and Francis (Castetter) White and grew up in Greenfield. He retired in 1995 from Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis as a machine operator. He was a cook while serving in the National Guard from 1957 to 1964. He was a loving, hard working husband and father and was a NASCAR fan. His favorite driver was anyone driving a Ford. Ruth Ann and Robert are survived by their children, Michael Dean White, of Indianapolis and Terri Denise Duncan, of Spencer; two grandchildren, Dustin White and Jessica Wilson and one granddaughter, Selah Wilson. Ruth Ann is also survived by four sisters, Connie Sue Burnell, of Seymour, Sharon Dettmer, of Columbus, Mary Snider, of Morgantown and Betty Vonstrohe, of Seymour and one brother, George Nentrup. Robert is survived also by one sister, Betty J. Williamson, of Portland, Indiana. They both were preceded in death by their parents and one grandson, Joseph Wayne Duncan and Ruth Ann was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Nentrup, Jr. Joint funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m.at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel with their granddaughter, Rev. Jessica Wilson officiating. Entombment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Washington Park Cemetery East in Indianapolis. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
