Morris Dean Deckard, 84, of Bloomington passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. He was born September 5, 1938 in Bloomington to Howard Deckard and Gayle DeFord Deckard. He was a self-employed computer analyst.
Survivors include his wife, Rhea Goble Deckard of Bloomington; five children, Greg (Kelly) Deckard of Indianapolis, Kelly (Travis) Morrison of Bloomington, Barry Deckard of Bloomington, Roger (Jamie) Burton of Navarre, Florida and Greg (Janice) Burton of Bedford; eight grandchildren, Kenny Crook, Zachary Burton, Samuel Deckard, Danyelle (Kyle) Flinders, Cooper Burton, Emma Burton, Braddock Burton and Austin Morrison; two great grandchildren, Ayla Burton and Maxwell Deckard; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Donald and Joe Deckard.
Memberships include the American Legion, the VFW, the Moose Lodge and Monroe Lodge 22, F&AM and was a Veteran of the United States Navy. Morris enjoyed any and all sports of Indiana University and spending time with his family.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Monday, September 26, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12 noon in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, 700 W Gourley Pike. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 PM with Pastor Harold Godsey officiating; burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
