Matthew John Thomas

Matthew John “Goliath”, Matty”, “Mattchew”,”Big Boy” Thomas, age 44, of Bedford, died unexpectedly on Thursday (09/27) at his home. Born November 29, 1973 in Wabash, Indiana, he was the son of Daniel Wayne “Danny” and Linda Carol (Corps) Thomas. Matthew was a self-employed tattoo artist and a building and painting contractor. He was affectionately known as a “Jack of all trades, Master of none.” He enjoyed hitch-hiking, where he once hiked from coast to coast. He was also an avid fisherman. Matthew is survived by his loving wife, Heather (Miller) Thomas, of Bedford, his son, Maverick Staiger; of Greenwood, IN, his daughter, Willow Thomas, of Springville, IN; two sisters, Amy (Jarod) Beaulieu of Portsmouth, VA and Levina “Lynn” Thomas, of La Plata, Maryland; two nephews, Samuel “Sammy” Beaulieu and Andrew Thomas and one niece, Ashley Thomas. Matthew was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Buddy Thomas. A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday (10/5) from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel; 700 W. Gourley Pike.
