Mary Jean Small

Mary Jean Small passed away on February 23, 2015 surrounded by her loving family in Bell Trace Health and Living Center. She was 81 years old and lived in Bloomington for most of her life. She was born in Clay City, IN to the late Earl and Sazie (Jackson) Haug on August 5, 1933.

Jean attended Indiana State University. She married Dr. Don Malin Small on July 24, 1953. He preceded her in death on June 18,2014.

Jean was an avid birdwatcher, a longtime volunteer for Area 10 Agency and loved teaching Sunday School.

She is survived by her son Dr. Kris Small, and daughters Lori Small and Amy Small Cazzell. Jean is also survived by four grandchildren; Megan Vernon, Sean Small, Ian Cazzell and Liam Small and her sister Carolyn Morris.

Jean was preceded in death by her sister Betty Page.

Visitation will be held in Sherwood Oaks Christian Church on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 12 p.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with Tom Ellsworth officiating. Entombment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
