Obituary of Lolita "Lee" Ann Carr
Lee Carr, a beloved wife, mother, and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2023. Born on January 5th, 1932, Lee led a life filled with love, purpose, and unwavering commitment to her family and community. Lee was married to Charles "Chuck" Carr for 62 beautiful years, and together they raised three wonderful daughters: Pam, Cathy, and Eileen, as well as granddaughter Ash. A proud graduate of Broad Ripple High School and a student at Butler University, Lee embarked on a remarkable journey that saw her become an integral part of the business world and a devoted leader in the Girl Scouts. In her professional life, Lee distinguished herself as an administrative secretary, playing a crucial role in the opening of the first stock brokerage in Niagara Falls. Her career spanned five different stock brokerages, including notable names like Raffensperger, Hughes & Co., Shields & Co., and Paine, Webber, Jackson, & Curtis. However, it was in her role as Carmel Neighborhood Chairman within the Girl Scouts that Lee found her true calling. Over three decades, she served in various capacities, including Troop Leader, Daycamp Leader & Assistant Director, Troop Consultant, and Camporee Judge. Lee's passion for guiding and nurturing young minds shone through in her commitment to the Girl Scouts, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives. Beyond her professional and volunteer endeavors, Lee was a woman of diverse interests. Her love of birds and green thumb brought forth vibrant gardens, and her enthusiasm for family genealogy enriched the lives of those around her. Lee found solace in the pages of history books and autobiographies, always eager to expand her knowledge and share her findings with others. A proud Christian Scientist, Lee believed in the power of positive thinking and approached life's challenges with grace and resilience. Her faith provided a foundation for the love and kindness she extended to everyone she met. Lee is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles "Chuck" Carr, and daughter Eileen Ann Carr. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and a commitment to making the world a better place. To honor Lee's passions and commitment to empowering young girls, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to your local Girl Scout troop. A private celebration of Lee's life will be held to commemorate the remarkable woman she was and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
