Dr. Lloyd “Vann” Seawell II, age 81, of Bloomington, died Sunday evening at I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital. Born February 9, 1930 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, he was the son of L. Vann Seawell and Margaret (McIntosh) Seawell. He was a Professor Emeritus in the I.U. School of Business where he taught from 1953 to 1994 and received many awards for outstanding teaching. He was one of the leading authorities in hospital accounting practices and spoke at many hospital organization seminars through the years. He received his Bachelor degree from Wake Forest University where he was the quarterback on the football team and his Masters and PhD degrees from Indiana University.
He is survived by his son, Vann Seawell, of Galena, Ohio; two grandchildren, Nathan and Hannah Seawell and one half-brother, Joe Bagwell, of Nebo, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Emma ( ) Seawell in 1984.
At Mr. Seawell’s request, there will be no services or visitation. Day Funeral Home in Bloomington is in charge of arrangements.
