Linda Sue Oblack

On Sunday, September 18, 2022, Linda Sue Porter Oblack, loving mother and longtime member of the Bloomington community, passed away at age 76.
Linda was born on January 20, 1946, in Gary, Indiana to William Walter Porter and Gladys Marie (Jones) Porter. She lived most of her younger life in Valparaiso, Indiana. She graduated from Wheeler High School and attended Ball State University.
Linda spent the majority of her adult life in Bloomington and was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She ran her own Montessori school and had a passion for teaching young children. Linda also spent a number of years working at the Indiana University Press. Her unique outlook on life and belief in caring for others had a positive impact on so many people.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister, Judith Lynn Satterfield and brother, Myron Walter Porter (Lorna); her three children, Derren Hermann, Keddy McClain and Colin McClain (Meagan), and four grandchildren, Milo, Atlantis, Roman and Ameina.
A Celebration Of Life will be held for Linda at a later date.
