Linda Jane McArtor, age 78, of Ellettsville, passed away Wednesday morning, August 24, 2022 at her residence. Born June 15, 1944 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Minor and Mary (Abbott) Quakenbush. She was a licensed beautician. She operated out of her own home for several years. She loved being with her family as well as holidays. For Christmas, she would start in October and would decorate every room in her house elaborately. She was always doing some kind of craft. Over the last several years, she found great friends playing Pogo online. She also loved camping and all the people she met over the years. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart and all that came to know her loved her.
Linda is survived by her husband of over fifty-six years, Jerry McArtor, of Ellettsville; two daughters, Marchetta (Gerry) McComas, of Bedford, Kentucky and Shawn (Greg) Meadows, of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Kristina (Jacob) Robinson, Jarrett (Heather) Snapp, Jeremy (Kimberley) Meadows and Isaiah (Peyton) Meadows; five great-grandchildren, Garrett Love, Tristyn Robinson, Ketan Robinson, Payton Robinson and Austyn Snapp, one brother, Nick Funk, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; two sisters, Anna Pence and Mary Dunn, both of Martinsville, her life-long friend, Mae Cassady and several nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Edna Stewart, Frances Pasch, Jean Walls and Sherry Silcox, one brother, Robert Quakenbush and her beloved grandson, Justin Snapp.

The funeral service will be at 12 noon Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel; 700 W. Gourley Pike. Burial will follow in Chambersville Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home.
