Justin was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and attended Avon schools. In his youth, Justin was an avid soccer player and an accomplished martial artist. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master’s degree in Higher Education Student Affairs from Indiana University, Bloomington. Justin was proud to have taught and lived in South Korea and China after his time at IU. He cherished his memories of traveling and teaching abroad, loving to retell funny stories about the things his young students would share in class. Justin had a passion for helping learners of all ages find their paths toward meaningful education, he later worked as an academic advisor at the collegiate level.
In 2015 he had the privilege of transitioning into his most cherished role as a stay-at-home father. He was the most amazing dad to his two gorgeous children, Lochlan and Keegan Gray, who survive him. There was no career he loved more than that of raising his children.
Justin was a loyal friend, willing to jump to defense, and known for giving great hugs. He was an adventurous son, who occasionally gave his folks a good scare. He was the big brother who encouraged a healthy amount of fun, not only for his sister but for his young cousins and campers alike. He was funny and playful, he always had a joke or jab for those he loved. Justin was full of crazy ideas and quick to tell you that he loved you.
His parents Jim and Suzi Gray, sister Amanda (Jarrod) Franklin, nieces Daphne and Thelma Franklin, nephew Jack Franklin, children Lochlan and Keegan Gray, grandparents Miller, along with many friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins will miss him sorely. Justin fought cancer for two hard years and we now take peace knowing he will enjoy the gift of everlasting joy with his grandparents Gray and friends in heaven.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.DayDeremiahFrye.com for the Gray family.
