James "Buck" Leroy White, 80, of Bloomington passed away in his daughter’s home on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. He was born November 8, 1943 in Bloomington to Leroy White and Inis Hawkins White. He was a retired Bloomington Transit Bus Driver.
Survivors include two sons, James Allen White (wife-Tammy) and Randall White (wife-Judy), all of Bloomington; three daughters, Alice Oneda White, of Bloomington, Esther Marie Laffin (companion- Stan Lane), of Bedford and Cindy Westfall (husband-Scott), of Bloomington; 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; four siblings, Danny White, Shirley White, Patty Sater, and Linda (Ron) Harding; a sister in law, Becky White; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded indeath by his parents; his wife, Olive Marie White; and two brothers, Ricky and Ronnie White.
Buck was of the Pentecostal faith, loved gardening, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Prior to becoming a bus driver, Buck worked for many years as a mechanic and Walkers Amoco.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third Street. Burial will follow in Knightridge Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
