James “Jim” Douglas Harding, 83, of Bloomington passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 in his home with his family at his side. He was born July 7, 1940 in Bloomington to Everett Harding and Christine Pelfree Harding. He was retired from RCA.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Merijane Peters Harding; a son, Matt (Amy Kepp) Harding; two daughters, Jennifer White and Chrissy Troxel; eight grandchildren, Lola, Max, Amber, Elizabeth, Haley, Jessica, Olivia and Azia; numerous great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara (Hugh) Barbry; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Everett Eugene Harding; and two sisters, Eva Maxine Harding and Janet Troxel.
Jim was a beloved father, husband, brother and friend. He worked faithfully for over 40 years at RCA as an electronics technician. Family love and friendship was what Jim would stand by. He always told his son and daughters, “Friends may come and go but family is forever”.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at the Elks Lodge, 400 North Walnut Street, Bloomington. Arrangements are under the direction of Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home.
