James William Flanders

James William “Big Jim” Flanders, age 75, of North Vernon, Indiana peacefully departed into the afterlife on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Majestic Care of North Vernon surrounded by loved ones. He was born January 30, 1948 in Greene County, Indiana to Cecil Raymond and Irene (Denham) Flanders. James worked on construction before retiring.

James is survived by two sons, James Leonard and Ricky Wayne Flanders, both of Bloomington, one daughter, Mary Ellen Welch, of Seymour, Indiana, one brother, Charles Harold “Butch” (Linda) Flanders, of Florida, one sister, Margareet Irene Welch, of Seymour; four grandchildren, Christy, Chasz, Dustin and Devon, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews as well as the loving staff of Majestic Care of North Vernon.

Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home are respectfully handling his cremation. There will be a private memorial for the family at a later date.
