Helen Marie Neal

Helen Marie Hatton Neal, 95, of Bloomington passed away Friday, August 30, 2024 at Owen Valley Health Campus. She was born August 28, 1929 in Ashland, Kentucky to Charles “Sidney” Hatton and Jessie Ginter Hatton. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia “Patty” Grever of Bloomington; two daughters in law, Karen Neal and Rita Neal, both of Bloomington; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ranous “Ray” Neal; two sons, Virgil “Rick” and Charles “Buddy” Neal; a step daughter, Charlotte Fleener; three brothers, Carl, Kenneth and Ferman Hatton; five sisters, Pearl Hatton, Mollie Mae White, Geneva Owens, Emilie Roberta Polsgrove and Grace Shrout; a granddaughter, Bethany Neal Smith; and a son in law Frank Grever.

Helen was a member of Hindustan Christian Church and the Hindustan Ladies Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, collecting oil lamps, working jig saw puzzles and gardening.

Graveside Services are scheduled for Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Hindustan Cemetery, 8891 N Old State Rd 37 with Pastor Steve Roe officiating. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 East Third Street.
