

Florian Walker, age 92, of Bloomington, went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, July 29 at his residence. Born May 16, 1920 in Stanaford, West Virginia, he was the son of Eugene and Myrza (Hurt) Walker. He was a retired Laborer with Laborer’s Union #741 and last worked for Brodie and Campbell Construction Company. He formerly was a coal miner prior to moving to Bloomington from Beckley, West Virginia in 1962 with his loving wife, Cora Pauline (Belcher) Walker. He loved to fish at Lake Monroe and Bean Blossom Creek.
He is survived by his four daughters and sons-in-law: June and Jack Waddell, of Bradenton, Florida and Faye and Steve Drake, Dena and David Mobley and Delessa and Tim Hamblen, all of Bloomington; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gene Walker, of Spencer, Indiana, David and Gail Walker, of Golden, Colorado and Carl and Marcia Walker , of Arvada, Colorado; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Margaret and Gene Warden, of Bluff City, Tennessee and Imogene and Bob Miller and Dorothy Arndt, all of West Virginia; fourteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Cora, in 2007, his parents, one daughter, Cora Ann Smith and two brothers, Roy and Jack Walker.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Day Funeral Home with Bro. Pat Knowles officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
