Eunice Gordon, 92, passed away peacefully in her Bloomington home after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family the evening of October 13, 2015. She was the daughter of Adam and Patsy(Baskin)Williams, born in Cheraw, SC on April 8, 1923.
Eunice was raised on her father’s farm. She was a dutiful and faithful worker for many years as a domestic, homemaker and housekeeper for Baker’s Motel.
Eunice is survived by her four children: Diane Hanks of Bloomington, IN, Shirley(Leon)Powell of Boston, MA, Joseph Gordon of Johnson City, TN and Betty(Stephen Corbett)Williams of Northborough, MA, four sisters: Bernice Bennett, Julia Boatwright, Mable Williams, and Ethel Blackwell. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter: Gladys Brown and one son: Marion Gordon, a very special son-in-law Lawrence J. Hanks, five siblings: Marie Redfern, Dicey Harrington, Marion Williams, Lawrence Williams, and Thomas Williams.
Eunice was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Cheraw, SC, was a Steward Board member and a member of the Women’s Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
