Esther was married to Kenneth William “Bill” Newton in 1946. She was Miss Congeniality of Pearl Harbor in 1952.
Esther enjoyed playing golf with her husband Bill. She also enjoyed the Indy 500, playing the guitar, organ, and piano, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
Esther is survived by her son, Matt David Newton and his wife Fatima; three sisters, Audrey Whitaker, Ann Robertson and her husband Charley, and June Presnell and her husband Owen; three brothers, Donald Marlin and his wife Vallee, Keith Marlin, and Gene Marlin and his wife Susie; two grandchildren, Allison Newton and Kenneth William Newton II; a special beloved great-granddaughter, Cayla Michelle Newton and a great-grandson, John Lightner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Kenneth William “Bill” Newton; and four brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Payne Cemetery.
