Ernest Jackson “Jack” Eads, Jr., 70, of Gosport, Indiana and Zephyrhills, Florida passed away Friday November 29, 2023 at his winter home in Zephyrhills, Florida. He was born October 30, 1953 in Bloomington, Indiana to Ernest Jackson Eads, Sr. and Margaret Alexander Eads. He was retired from Covanta Energy as an Environmental Engineer.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Terry Burch Eads; three grandchildren, Alaina Grace Eads, Luke Jackson Eads and Cypress Orion Eads, his daughter in law, Sunshine Eads; two sisters, Peggy (Paul) May and Dianne Petro; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and so many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin sons, Bradley and Jason Eads; and his sister, Donna Sira.
Jack was a lover of life and lived his life to the fullest. His stories are quite numerous and he was able to tell them to a 4 year old or 40 year old.
Jack was a private pilot and his greatest flying joy was giving first rides, especially to kids. He spent 6 years in the U. S. Air Force. He was a 1971 Graduate of Bloomington High School and has been involved with the Boys and Girls club since the 1960’s. Jack was a Lifetime Member of the AmVets Post 550, a member of the American Legion, the Elks and the VFW Auxiliary.
Jack enjoyed playing guitar, golf with his friends, and traveling - especially camping and cruising with his family and friends. He was an avid motorcycle rider all his life and recently bought his first “old geezer bike”, a trike.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 East Third Street, Bloomington. Funeral Services will be held on Monday December 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery.
