Eric Charles Vollmer

Eric Charles Vollmer passed away on April 11, 2025, at age 71. Eric grew up on a farm in southern Indiana. He attended Howe Military School grades 6-9 but graduated from Loogootee High School in 1972. After high school he served in the Navy for three years as a torpedo technician and attended Indiana University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. He served in the Army from 1981-1986 in varying positions with infantry battalions and companies. From 2001-2010, Eric worked as a civilian with the Department of the Army at the Presidio of Monterey, CA, as an Engineering Technician.

Eric was an avid reader and loved history. He has lived in Bloomington, Indiana, since 2013. He is survived by his three sisters, Theresa Spurgeon, Karen Nondorf, and Gretchen Vollmer, and three nephews, one niece, and three grandnephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third Street in Bloomington, IN 47401. Prior to the memorial service from Noon to 1:00 p.m. the family will receive friends.
