Dorothy Mae Perine, 66, of Bloomington, died Saturday, December 6, 2014 in her residence. She was born September 7, 1948 in Jackson, Alabama to Ira Perine and Ruby James Perine. She was retired from General Electric.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Perine and his wife Nancy and Randy Perine and his wife Jenny all of Bloomington; three brothers, Charles Ray Perine and Calloway Perine both of Bloomington and Johny Mac Wilson of Mobile, AL; seven sisters, Gloria Jean Wilson of Mobile, AL, Minnie Lee Perine and her husband Nolan, Annie Ree James, Katie Mae James and her husband Wesley, all of Jackson AL, Dorothy Louise James of Atlanta, Doretha Darrington and her husband Darrin of TX, and Linda Marie James of Montgomery, AL; an aunt who raised her, Ethel Ree James of Jackson, AL; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; a step mother, Nanny Clark; an uncle who was like a father, Willie James; and a sister, Eddie Ruth James.
As a very active member of Second Baptist Church Dorothy also helped with the Junior Choir and was on the Usher Board. Dorothy really loved life and her church.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014 in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E Third St., with Rev. Dr. Bruce Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
