Donna Jean George

Donna Jean Harper George, 76, of Bloomfield passed away Monday, August 28, 2023 in Bell Trace Health and Living Center with her family at her side. She was born July 8, 1947 in Bloomington to Randolph Harper and Wilma Hardin Harper. She was retired from Indiana University after 33 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra (Mike) Ayres and Stacy (Jay Johnston) George; four grandsons, Jeremy (Jenna) Ayres, Sean (Karissa Fleetwood) Riggs, Justin (Lauren) Ayres, Jay Tatum and William Sater II; four granddaughters, Sara (Jason) King, Dovie (Chris) Collins, Amber (Jeremy) Lawson and Amanda Byers; a sister, Melody Long; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband David Lee George; a son, Randy George; a daughter, Kimberly D. McGlocklin; a grandson, Chad Byers; and two brothers, Samuel Harper and Dennis Harper.

Donna was a member of Green Valley Pentecostal Church, she enjoyed spending time with her family, playing Bingo, singing gospel music with her family, taking trips to the casino with her family and her cat Tom Tom.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 East Third Street. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
