Delila Ellen Evans Lentz, 93, of Bloomington passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Hearthstone Health Campus. She was born October 23, 1927 in Casey County, Kentucky to Asa W. Evans, Sr. and Ida B. Patton Evans. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her two daughters, Karen (Jerry) Boston of Jeffersonville and Sheila (Don) Goodwin of Bloomington; a son, Keith (Darla) Lentz of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Kyle, and Mara; three sisters, Margaret Bowmer, Dollie Lucas and Betty (Randall) Downey; two brothers, Winfory (Linda) Evans and Buford (Mary) Evans; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles “Mush” W. Lentz, Jr.; son, W. Michael Lentz; two sisters, Eula Cundiff and Bernice Pitman; and three brothers, George Evans, Wilbert Evans and Asa Evans, Jr.
Delila had attended New Prospect Baptist Church, she enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting, cooking, sewing, fishing, and gardening. Delila’s family would also like to thank Hearthstone Health Campus and Southern Care Hospice for their care and support of Delila.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 12 to 2 at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E Third St. Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday at 2pm with Pastor Rick Davidson officiating. A private burial will follow at Payne Cemetery.
