He is survived by his son David Dean Hays, granddaughter Santana D Hays (Michael Shields), great-grandchildren Mikey, Aly, Liam, and Olive Shields, his very close niece Sandy and David Moore, and his very best friends Steve Mullins.
David was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Carolyn Faye Hays, his parents, and all 11 of his siblings.
David served his Country stationed at Fort Knox, Fort Hood, and 18 months in Germany.
He and his wife loved to travel the United States, enjoying oceans and casinos.
He was a loyal member of Moose Lodge #1081, Masonic Lodge #22, and Eagles Lodge all of Bloomington, IN.
Visitation for David will be held on Friday March 31, 2017 from 11a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary Greene & Harrell Chapel, 700 W. Gourley Pike, Bloomington, IN 47404. Entombment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
