Danny Lee Terhune

Danny Lee Terhune, 64, of Mitchell passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023 in I. U. Health, University Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born January 1, 1959 in Bloomington to Clifford Terhune and Rose Wilbur Terhune. He was retired from Indiana University.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Houshour of Mitchell; a daughter, Michelle (Josh Carey) Kelley of Mitchell; six grandchildren, Holley Grubb, Jake Grubb, McKynzie Miller, Keegan Kelley, Brantlee Carey and Blake Luttrell; two sisters, Ruth Lewellen-Whitt and Judy Freeman; the mother of his children, Candi (James) McKamey; three special nieces, Shelley Terhune Fowler, Tina Dixon and Aprile Crider; two nephews, Ben “BJ” Terhune and Justice Edwards; a very close friend, Hollie (Paul) Staggs; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Marsha Grubb; and two brothers, George “Dewey” Terhune and William “Bill” Terhune.

Danny was a member of Highland Village Church, he enjoyed spending time with his family, working on cars, collecting knives and antique firearms. He was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 form 4:00 – 8:00 PM in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 East Third Street. Funeral Services will be Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Joshua Stanger officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
