Cynthia "Cindy" Lou Hays

Cynthia “Cindy” Lou Hays, age 74, of Avon, Indiana, formerly of Bloomington, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024 in the Indiana University Health West Hospital in Avon. Born July 30, 1949 in Lebanon, Indiana, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Cornelia Johanna (VanMeel) Richards. Cindy worked for the I.U. Halls of Residence Briscoe Quad Dining Center. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed crocheting, crafts, going to the beach, fishing, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She was of the Christian faith.

Cindy is survived by her loving family; two daughters, Lori Deckard, of Ellettsville, Indiana and Debbie Parker, of Gosport, Indiana; two sons, Mike Hays, of Tampa, Florida and Dennis Hays, Jr., of Brownsburg, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Trent Deckard, Baylee Hunter, Kaitlyn Deckard, Hannah Hays, Griffin Hays, Peyton Hays and Mason Hays and one great-grandson, Dawson Parker.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ronnie Richards.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
