Constance “Connie” J. Pugh of Bloomington, died unexpectedly on October 8, 2015 in Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. Connie was the daughter of the late Alfred and Doris Sawtelle Doty, born in Marshalltown, Iowa on August 8, 1935. Connie met and married her husband of 53 years, Daniel D. Pugh in Cedar Lake, IN. They shared a wonderful life together in Cedar Lake, IN, Brown County, IN and Bloomington, IN. In Connie’s early career, she was a registered surgical nurse and later became the head nurse at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Hammond, IN.Connie is survived by her loving husband Dan, two daughters: Heidi(husband Rob) Hendricks of Bloomington and Andrea(husband Shane)Wenderoth of Bloomington, two sons: Monte(wife Robin)Pugh of Orlando, FL and Joel Pugh of Spartanburg, SC. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Whitney and Drake Wenderoth, Haylee and Paige Hendricks, Honna and Noah Followell, her sister Sandy Denney of Scotia, NY and her sister-in-law: Jan Doty of Rhode Island. Connie was preceded in death by two brothers: Alfred Doty, Jr. of Denver, CO and Gary Doty of Cedar Lake, IN. Connie was known for always putting others first. She was a very caring, selfless, nurturing and loving mother, wife and friend to those that knew her. She was famous for her legendary pies at her church pitch-ins and loved to cook. She was an avid gardener and was known for her beautiful flowers. A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third St., Bloomington, IN 47401.
