Catherine Jean Sears Sare

Catherine Jean Sare, age 85, of Bloomington, died Friday morning in Garden Villa Health Care Center in Bloomington. Born January 26, 1926 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Samuel and Gladys (Danner) Sears. She retired from after 27 years of service. She formerly worked for Sarkes Tarzian and in the cafeteria at Westinghouse. He loved growing and tending to her many outdoor and indoor flowers and was a faithful member of the W. 11th St. Pentecostal Faith Assembly.

She is survived by her loving husband, Forrest Sare, of Bloomington; two daughters and sons-in-law: Sammie and Steve Dillman, of Solsberry and Teddie and Charles Bradley, of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Michael Bradley, Doug and David Sare, Regina Fox, Brian Hamblen, Carrie Sowders, and Bruce Dillman, fifteen great-grandchildren and two sisters, Cozenna Reed, of Coal City and Caroline Barger, of Spencer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Danny Sare and two brothers, Oman and Owen Sears.

The funeral service will be Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Valhalla Memory Gardens Chapel with Pastor Michael Douglas officiating. Entombment will follow the service. Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel in Bloomington.
