Anna Maria Murawska-Mroz

With great sadness we inform you of passing of Anna Maria Murawska-Mroz, age 55, of Bloomington. After lengthy fight with the cancer, upon receiving the last sacrament, she died on Thursday, November 3, 2022, in her residence surrounded by her family.

Born in Torun, Poland, Ania was beloved mother, wife, daughter and sister. Ania received her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the Warminsko-Mazurski University in Poland. She dedicated her life to passionate and loving service in education in her home country of Poland, as well here in US. She brought light, smiles, and joy wherever she was. Her patience and never-ending optimism will be terribly missed.

She was preceded in death by: her grandparents and her father Bogdan Murawski of Poland.

She is survived by: her daughter Julia Mroz and husband Piotr “Peter” Mroz of Bloomington, mother Maria Murawska and sister Iwona Grabowska of Poland. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins all residing in her native Poland.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19 at 2pm at the St. Paul Catholic Center in Bloomington. Interment of the ashes is scheduled for 4pm at the Mary’s Children Cemetery (Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center – 8220 W State Rd 48, Bloomington, IN 47404 - park at the retreat center parking, or uphill on the Sacred Heart Chapel’s parking lot). A reception for friends and family to follow directly after in the Retreat’s Dining Hall. All are welcome to attend all or part of the celebration.

In lieu of flowers family suggests the memorial contribution be made to the St. Paul Catholic Center at Indiana University or to the Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center.
