It has been a year since Alan passed away.  We all miss him each and every day and he is forever in our thoughts.  His  time with us will always be treasured and remembered with love, laughter and "what would big Al  have to say about this" or "It is the Lambe way" on so many things. I will always remember him as my "big" little cousin Alan Jeffrey.  So many good times with his mom and dad and cousins. May God keep you all in his loving care and may you take comfort in the fact that Alan is in his presence this very day. God bless you Aunt Susie and Uncle Phil.

To Family and Friends:  

Thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers, food, offers of help and for all of the lovely flowers yesterday at the funeral service.  

It was very comforting to Kelly and to the children that so many people came to the service on such a cold snowy day. It was very much appreciated that so many of you had to change your plans or travel a great distance in such bad weather just to be able to attend the service. Thank you for   sharing your stories  of Alan with the family as we gathered to say our final goodbye and to honor and to celebrate Alan's life yesterday.  

The demonstration of love and support to Kelly,  the children and to all of his family members has been comforting, overwhelming and greatly appreciated by the entire family.

As I have said many times when Kelly married Alan I did not lose a daughter,  I truly did gain a son.
      
I will always love and treasure my memories of Alan.    He was one in a million and will always remain very close to my heart.  

To each and everyone who has called, sent a text, sent an email,  brought or offered to bring food to the hospital or to Hospice House or to Kelly's home,  for the cards and flowers and for your prayers and holding the family in your thoughts--THANK YOU  from the  Mother-In-Law, Mother and Gram.

Some fond memories of Big Al

- He single-handedly defeated our entire cabin in a pillow fight at 5th Grade Bradford Woods camp.

- He was the Midway Monster of the 49er's Boys Club football team (coached by his Dad, Phil).  Al controlled the line on both sides of the ball.

- He drove the coolest car at High School (Dodge Charger all trimmed out - even had a CB radio and 8-track). Was even known to loan it out when you really needed to impress a date.

- He almost always capped off Bloomington South wrestling meets with a win - usually with a pin to the joy of everyone watching.

- Long before the NBA, he invented "trash talk" on the golf course at the IU Par 3.

- It was good to see him in later years watching his son Kelby wrestle.  As intimidating as Al seemed, he always had a big heart and you got to see that when he was with his family.

You touched a lot of hearts and will be missed Al.  Thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

Such a profound loss for Kelly, and all of the family. You are in my prayers as you go through this difficult time. Alan will be fondly remembered by his many friends as always having a smile and endless love for his family.

I remember many spirited games of football in the side yard on Fullerton Pike with Alan and his Dad and Mike his brother, as well as cousins Debbie , Elizbeth and Diane, or playing board games in the house, everything was a contest with lots of laughs.
