Thomas R Marshall, 81, of Bloomington, passed away at 5:14 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born February 12, 1937 in Bloomington, the son of Ray Daniel and Minnie Moser Marshall. He married Carol Jean Cremeens on April 25, 1959 in Bloomington. She survives.
Thomas worked in maintenance for nearly 40 years at General Electric. He was known to family and friends as a workaholic. He loved NASCAR, working on cars, and enjoyed watching American Pickers and Pawn Stars on television. He also loved doting on his cat, Mr. Pickles. Thomas was the best husband, father, grandpa, and great grandpa in the world!
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Tammy Hoeniges of Bloomington; Teresa (Bill) Rouse of Carlock; Michael (Renee) Marshall of Morton; and Donna Gunter of Bloomington. Thomas also adored his 12 grandchildren, Leah and Katie Hoeniges; Matthew and Whitney Rouse; Thomas, Ashton, and Dailan Marshall; Kayla Marshall Fowler; Jessika, Kaitlin, and Jared Kelch, and Penelope Gunter; and six great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Jared Kelch; a son-in-law, John Hoeniges; as well as 12 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 24th at 10 a.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. Entombment will follow at the East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, October 23rd from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
