Sue was born on November 18th, 1930 in Vera, Illinois, the daughter of Carl C. Adermann and Mary Marty Adermann.
She was married on November 15th, 1952 to Richard Lamb at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Assumption, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 15th, 2014.
Also preceding Sue in passing are her parents; daughter, Carla Lamb Himes; two great-granddaughters, Isabella Hermes and Mataya Rose Taylor; brother, Thomas Adermann; sister, Mary Joan Tirpak.
She is survived by six daughters: Catherine (Charles) Bischoff of Bloomington, Patricia (Leo) Hermes of Heyworth, Martha (Gerry) Brogla of Normal, Mary (Lou) Kirin of Loda, IL, Judith (Clint) Martens of Heyworth, and Jennifer Lamb of Bloomington; son, Joseph Lamb of Milford, IL; son-in-law, Roland Himes Jr. of Cable, Ohio; 28 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
Besides a wife and mother, Susan was also a registered nurse. She retired from OSF in 1992 as an IV specialist at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bloomington.
The family will be forever grateful to the staff of Heritage Health in El Paso, where she had been a resident since February of 2019, for their kindness and attentiveness to Sue and her family.
A visitation will be held at East Lawn Funeral Home from 5pm – 7pm on Wednesday, the 13th. Guests are welcome, will be required to wear a mask, and will be following a 10 person in, 10 person out rule to safely offer comfort and condolences to the family. The visitation will be streamed live on Facebook on the East Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens page ( https://www.facebook.com/EastLawnFuneralHome ).
A funeral service and graveside service will also be streamed live at 10 AM on Thursday the 14th, followed by the graveside service at 12pm.
Memorial contributions may be offered to Epiphany Catholic Church for memorial masses.
