Shirley A. Bush

Shirley A. Bush, 92, of Normal passed away June 2, 2022 at her residence and surrounded by her family. She was born August 13, 1929 in Du Quoin, IL to Earl and Bess (Moye) Coleman and married the love of her life, Lawrence Bush on December 17, 1955. He precedes her in passing.

Surviving are her daughter: Constance “Connie” Mayes; son: Joe Gene Bush; granddaughter: Sara Mayes; and grandson: Nolan Bush. Shirley is also preceded in passing by her parents; and sisters: Phyllis (Sonny) Simmons and Earlean (Jim) Rice.

Shirley was a hardworking woman, who loved her family dearly and loved to help others. She was a seamstress for many years and made her children’s clothing as they grew up. She also helped in the lunch room at her children’s school and worked elections booths. In her later years, Shirley always looked forward to watching Jeopardy with her family.

Cremation rites have been accorded with East Lawn Funeral Home. Entombment will be held at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
