With unreserved sadness, we grieve that Sandra has left us far too soon.  We are comforted that she is in heaven with her beloved daughter Julie, brother Bill, and parents. 

Our condolences go to Sandra's sister Barbara, my mother, and her brother Bob.  Our deep sympathies go to Steven, Travis, and step-grandchildren - they are her legacy.  

I always told Sandra that she was my favorite aunt.  And I meant it. Sandra always seemed to be in good spirits through thick and thin.  Her laughter will forever remain in my memory,  and it puts a  smile on my face when I remember.

Family was very important to Sandra. Without fail, she would always ask how everyone was doing.  She never forgot her family - an important lesson for all.

Sandra is gone from earth but will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved her.  Rest in Peace.

I remember her sense of humor and laugh! Our entire family has enjoyed receiving postcards and fun gifts in the mail in recent years.


I will greatly miss my sister.  The sudden loss has shaken me.
Although covid 19 prevented me from seeing my sister in person, I will treasure the many long telephone conversations we shared during this past year.  I will always have the memory of those calls.
As far as the post cards mentioned in the obituary:  a couple weeks ago she sent me a postcard of House on the Rock.  When I talked to her on her birthday October 5, I mentioned that the attraction is more than just the house, and has other areas with things such as rooms with musical instruments that played themselves.  Well, she was prepared for that, as the next day she put in the mail a postcard with a picture of one of those musical rooms from House on the Rock.
I will also remember how she loved to play games at holiday gatherings, and came prepared with trivia contests.  She loved to play Scattergories with us, as well as other games.  I will also remember how she tried to convince us that a turkey beard was called a humptedinkadink!

My favorite story of Sandra involves my grandson who was born 14 weeks early, weighing 1# 11 oz.  Sandra would be Josh's great aunt.  Josh spent nearly 4 months in the NICU while Sandra requested updates on his progress.  When Josh's Baptism was scheduled at  5 1/2 months old, Sandra insisted that she was attending the Baptism, even though she had just recently been discharged from the hospital herself, and it required driving from Bloomington, IL to Cleveland, OH - chauffeured  by her 16 year old grandson who had gotten his driver's license just days prior (in a rented Dodge Charger!)  Sandra was delighted to witness the Baptism, and coerced the first genuine smile from Josh. Thank you, Sandra, for caring so much!!
