Samuel Henry Wilson, 75, of Bloomington, IL died in Lincoln, IL at Symphony of Lincoln on Saturday, July 4th, 2015. He was born in Ewing Township, franklin CountyIL to Winter Robert and Ruth J. (Ackerson) Wilson.
He is survived in life by grand-daughter, Rashelle Wood, grand-daughter Shannon Street, and great grand-children, Draven Robert Wilson Wood, Kellan Rhys Wood, and Gabrielle LeNee Davis. Also survived by his sisters, Nancy Ann Evans, Suzi (Dave) Barclay, and Cathy (Gerald) DeNeal, brother, William R. (Janet) Wilson, nieces and nephews, Ruth Ann Payton, Kathy Dyer, Don Evans Jr., Sam Evans, Jon Evans, Larry Evans, Cathy Ruth Hartman, Tracey Lee Webb, Christian E. Brouillette, Travis DeNeal, Darin DeNeal, and 17 great-nieces and nephews. Samuel was preceded in death by his wife Sharon and step-son Mark Bond.
Samuel enjoyed a career doing building maintenance on HVAC systems. He helped many of his family members with their homes. Samuel was especially generous to anyone in need. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and working with old farm machinery, such as antique tractors. He was a hoot! He loved poetry and raising his grand-daughter Rashelle, who was the apple of his eye.
A visitation will be held at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Rd., Bloomington on Friday, July 10th from 11am to 12pm. There will be a funeral service at 12pm, also at East Lawn Funeral Home, and a burial to follow at Funks Grove Cemetery.
