I was sad to hear of Roy's passing. We worked together at DSM/Mitsubishi. Roy was always there to help solve problems along with me, we were a good team. We would walk together at lunch when we had time. He was a very intelligent, trustworthy man that liked to crack a joke from time to time. I moved to Tennessee and  stopped by to see Roy in my travels to Wisconsin a number of times,  we spoke on the phone one in a while, but not often enough, I wish I could  talk to him one more time. Roy was a colleague of mine, but more importantly, my best friend. I  will miss him dearly.

I worked with Roy for some time. He was always ready to help and always showed the initiative to do more.  When are jobs were eliminated, we lost touch. And today reminds me how important it is to reach the people that you live and care for. I will greatly miss Roy, and The Lord took a very good one this time. Such a great heart and soul. Such a great friend. My condolences to Roy's family. My prayers are with you. Roy, you will be missed.

My wife and I worked with Roy for several years at the MMMA plant in Normal.  
Roy was always supportive and jovial.  Always had a story to tell and willing to try the next thing that came along.   I had just met up with one of the aerobic instructors that taught classes out at the plant, and yes, Roy was a participant in those classes!
For the family, I am sorry for your loss.   Roy was a great person at work and I can only imagine he was an awesome father, uncle, nephew, cousin, etc..  Roy always talked about his family and the next event he was waiting to attend.
Always quick to bring laughter and direct when he needed to be.
For us, Roy was part of a work family that could only be known by those that worked together for all those years.  Through all of the ups and downs Roy was there.

Roy and Carol were neighbors that became family in the 25 years that we lived next door to them.  Roy always shared his garden goodies, even when he knew that I could not have used those extremely hot peppers he grew! He had a smile and a goofy joke whenever he came to chat over the fence. Hugs to Carol and the girls. We wish we could be there to give them in person.

Uncle Roy was one of the best role models that I could have ever asked for. Whether it was talking about cars, taking care of kids, or taking care of family he always had the best intention of teaching me well rounded mannerisms and skills. Halloween at Aunt Carol and Uncle Roy’s house was always a fun time of year. The Pumpkin Papa Murphys pizza that Aunt Carol would have cooking while Uncle Roy and sometimes Mom, Dad, and I remember one time Jen took Cheyenne and I out Trick or Treating. I remember one time I dressed as Michael Jackson and they wanted to see me do the moon walk I said no and Aunt Carol took my hat and put it on top of the fridge where I couldn’t reach and wouldn’t give it back until I did and Uncle Roy was just laughing his butt off. When Dad was in Georgia on one of his deployments when I was younger Uncle Roy would take me to the movies. He is the reason I love Shrek. Shrek 2 to be more specific. I have no clue how many times he took me to see it (must’ve been like 3-6 times) but he didn’t care didn’t ask if I wanted to see something different. He just did it for me to be a good brother for his brother and to be a good Uncle to his nephew. I went to see him the night of my junior prom so he could see me and be proud it’s one of my favorite pictures that I have of me and Roy because he looked proud of me. I loved him and I love you all. I can do whatever you need I’m just a call away.

My wife and I purchased our house in January of ‘21, and were blessed to find out that Roy was our next door neighbor. I’m sure the cold kept us in for a few months, but as soon as that sun came out, you could find Roy tending to his garden! We soon learned that this gentleman, wise man could keep you company at the fence for hours! My wife would look forward to coming home from a long days work to the comforting face of Roy at the fence. They would share gardening tips, tomatoes, and whatever was on the garden menu for that year. I would look forward to the weekends, out mowing, and see Roy waving. What I thought would be a quick break, would turn into an hour of the most wonderful stories, laughter, and just outright enjoyment! Boy did he have the best stories! That’s the one relief I take from this, is that I know he lived a wonderful life! To Carol and family, I’m very sorry for your loss! I hope you take comfort knowing that he brought so much joy to our lives! Roy, thank you for the gardening tips, the spectacular stories, and basically being the best neighbor we could have ever hoped for!
