He was born July 21, 1938 to Frank Waldo and Bertha (Meister) Mann Jr. in Bloomington, IL.
On June 30th, 1962, Ronald was married to Marlene Rostetter. They celebrated their 50 year wedding anniversary together in 2012 before her passing.
He is survived by his daughter Trisha (Steve Baker) Mann; son, Brady (Emily) Mann; and grandchildren: Ali Baker, Daniel Baker, Aidan Mann, and Lucy Mann.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and two brothers: Henry Mann and Franklin Salzman.
Ronald retired from the Army Illinois National Guard from the Bloomington Unit as an E6 Staff Sargent.
He loved watching and listening to St. Louis Cardinal baseball and watching the Fighting Illini basketball.. Ronald was known for many achievements and accomplishments throughout his life. He and Marlene operated Mann’s Upholstery for more than 20 years; president of the Lexington Booster Club, he achieved the Award of Excellence from the Illinois State Board Education for being a school volunteer; member of the American Legion of Lexington; employee of IRS until his retirement; Lexington Ambulance EMT; a Lexington school bus driver and monitor; score board keeper and a football gate attendant for Lexington School for more than 30 years
Above all else he was known for his kindness, patience, open-heart, and friendly nature, as was exemplified by the 30 plus years he spent fostering children with his wife, Marlene.
He will be remembered with fondness by those who knew him best and he will by truly missed by all.
A Celebration of Life will be March 1, 2020 from 1-3pm at the Lexington Community Center, 207 W. Main St., Lexington, IL. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ronald’s honor to the Lexington Booster Club.
