Obituary of Richard K Sparks

NORMAL — Richard K. Sparks, 83, of Normal, passed away at 3:11 p.m. Thursday (July 18, 2019) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at West Twin Grove Church, Bloomington. Pastor Monte Bowers will officiate. Cremation rites were accorded A private family inurnment will follow the service on Friday at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Beck Memorial Home, is handling the arrangements.

Richard was born Oct. 28, 1935, in LeRoy, the son of Wayne and Elsie (Hart) Sparks. He later married Sharon Wingstirn on Dec. 11, 1992. She preceded him in death on Aug. 3, 2018.

He is survived by two sons: Michael Sparks and David (Tina) Sparks; one daughter: Jenifer (Billy) Strong, one daughter-in-law: Karen Killian, one brother: Ronald (Marilyn) Sparks, 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one infant brother; two sons, Richard Sparks and Terry Killian; one daughter, Loretta Barker; and one grandson.

Memorials may be made to the West Twin Grove Church of Bloomington.
