She was born February 3, 1938 in Louisville, KY, daughter of John B. and Eva Marie Mittchel Gordon. She married Turl Whitecotton on June 26, 1957 in Bloomington.
Surviving are her husband of Heyworth; two sons, Harold (Ann) Whitecotton of Piper City and David (Josie) Whitecotton of Raleigh, NC; one daughter, Sheila Whitecotton of Heyworth; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers, Charles (Phyllis) Gordon of Danvers, Robert (Dorothy) Gordon of Bloomington, Don Gordon of Mackinaw and Larry (Kathy) Gordon of Heyworth; two sisters, Ann (Butch) Perring of Clinton and Carolyn Gordon of Bloomington; three sisters-in-law, Sandy Gordon of Bloomington, Verna Gordon of Congerville and Ethel Gordon of Minier and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and four sisters.
Nancy retired from Eureka Williams in Bloomington and later worked part-time, alongside her husband at Baum Chevrolet in Clinton.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband, gardening and spending time with her family.
Nancy was a member of Hudson Christian Church, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington following services.
