I'm so sorry to see this. I knew Mike for years as his nurse in Lincoln when he would come up for a family visit. He was a great guy and we always loved to have him visit.  My sincerest sympathy

Although it was only a brief moment where I met Michael and his family,  you could feel the love and compassion they had for one another.  He was an incredibly humble and kind man.  My prayers of comfort and peace are with you all today, tomorrow and the next.

Mike was a friend since we met our freshman year at Woodland in 1962. We graduated together in 1966. After a four year vacation in the Air Force, I met up with Mike again in Normal at ISU. He was good friends with my brother-in-law and my wife. Small world. I think he became a car guy after running with Tim Kakara and myself. Rest in peace Brother Mike!

My grandpa was the most generous man. He did not know a stranger and always stood up for what he believed in. He was an amazing friend, father,  grandfather, and worker.  He loved finding treasures and always knew how to make someone laugh. I would not be who I am today without his presence in my life. I am going to miss our phone calls and breakfast times dearly. I love you grandpa - see you again someday 🕊

Mike was more than just a friend. He was my mentor. He believed in me at a time when not many did. I'm fortunate to have spent the time that i did with him. I dont think I would be who I am today if it wasn't for him. He will be missed.
