Mary Louise Smith, 75, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2016 at her home in Bloomington, Illinois. Louise was born July 11, 1941, in Clinton Indiana, to William Claude Smith and Pearl Poynter Smith, now deceased.
Visitation will be from 3-4 pm Thursday July 21, 2016 at East Lawn Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 4 pm.
She was employed for 41 years at State Farm in Bloomington, retiring in 2003. Employment was a great source of enjoyment because she loved the contact with people.
Louise's outgoing personality brought her many friends wherever she lived or worked. She was an amazingly accomplished woman, very strong and independent. We are certain God is going to have his hands full with her trying to organize heaven.
We pray that in her last moments she knew how much we loved her. Her spitfire and independence made it seem she would always come back from any challenge that came her way. May this last journey bring her peace and comfort, releasing her from the many battles she fought so diligently to rise above.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer Kinsella, Normal, IL and Patrick Kinsella, Monroe, NC; grandchild; Landon Kinsella, Bloomington, IL; brothers: Ronald Smith, Henderson, Nev; Tracy Smith; Dallas, TX; J. C. Smith, Australia; David Smith, Heyworth; Ed Smith, Peoria; stepmother, Naoma Smith, Normal; sisters, Arlene Hunnicutt, Jacksonville, Fla; Joyce Mowry, Arizona City, Ariz; Judy Marshall, Bloomington; and many nieces and nephews and her kitties who were her constant companions, Barney and Oscar.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Clayton Smith and Donald Alan Smith; sisters, Lois Jean Stevenson, Wilma Christine Bradley and Francis Marie Lauritson Mead.
Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association or Central Illinois Humane Society.
