Maria Koestner, 94, of Bloomington passed away at her residence Sunday June 7, 2020 with family by her side.

She was born April 12, 1926 in Kyrieleis, Romania to George and Sofia Lennerth. She married Karl Koestner August 24, 1947 in Austria. He preceded her in death September 27, 1989.

She is survived by daughters Ingrid (Bill) Wetzel, and Sofia Koestner; daughter-in-law Marcia Koestner; step-brother Oscar Lennerth; five grandchildren Teresa Newell, Christopher Everroad, Brian Koestner, Jason Koestner, and Heather Kizzee; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Karl Koestner, brothers George and Martin Lennerth, step-brother Michael Lennerth, and one stillborn great grandchild.

Maria was a Bindery Clerk at State Farm for 17 years. She loved life, loved her family, and she was deeply loved by her family. She will be incredibly missed by all.

The family would also like to say thank you to OSF Hospice for their wonderful care of Maria.

Visitation will be held Thursday June 11th, 2020 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Danvers. Funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation. Services will conclude at Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers.

Memorial contributions may be made in Maria’s name to Zion Lutheran Church, Danvers.
