Lorene was born February 13, 1922, in Bellflower, the daughter of Charles and Edith (Miller) Lee. She married Melvin Lindsay on November 23, 1940, in St. Louis. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are their children, Kaywin (Ann) Lindsay of Greensburg, IN; and Carolyn (Richard) Smith of Bloomington; eight grandchildren, Brian (Pam) Lavoie of Cystal Lake, IL; Edward Lindsay of Kodiak Island, AK; Denise (Andrew) Hunter of Charleston, S.C.; Scott (Donna) Lindsay of Newtown, CT; Monique (David) Wilson of Greenburg, IN; Stacia Smith of Millinocket, ME; Sara (Kevin) Bailey of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; Abigail (Mark) Dozier of Camas, WA; 14 great-grandchildren, Amber, Erin, Joshua, Nicholas, Carly, Nathan, Christopher, Lily, Tanner, Grant, Carson, Rachel, April, and Maggie; two great-great-grandchildren, William and Charlotte; a sister, Mary (David) Bridgewater of Bloomington. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Madelyn; four sisters, and one brother.
Lorene was an active member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Bloomington. She was a volunteer at Heritage Health for many years. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to dance, listen to country music and trips with her husband.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Pastor Danny McCubbins will officiate. Visitation will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, or the American Foundation of Prevention of Suicide.
