He was born on August 21, 1924 in Fisher, IL the son of Chester and Bernice Wilson. He married Elnor M. Wilson on June 16, 1946 in Bloomington and she preceded him in death.
Leslie is survived by his daughter Linda (James) Daughtry of Normal, IL and his son Brad (Jan) Wilson of Springfield, IL.
Leslie is also survived by 1 brother James (Beverly) Wilson of Waynesville, IL, 5 Grand Children and 17 Great Grand Children, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Leslie was a World War II Veteran serving in the Army throughout the war.
Leslie managed Greenwood Mobile Homes and Park for 27 years. He was also a local real estate developer and agent with Brady – Weaver Real Estate for many years working mainly with commercial properties.
Leslie was a member of the Bloomington/Normal Masonic bodies, Blue Lodge and Consistory. He was also a long-time member of the 2nd Christian Church.
Later he transferred to Vale Church where he was a member for 32 years. Leslie was instrumental helping Vale Church obtain the property where it is currently located and other properties.
As an active church member, Leslie served as a Deacon, Elder, Teacher, Trustee and a frequent singer and soloist.
A Celebration of Life will be held at East Lawn Funeral Home on Wednesday September 3rd from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of Leslie’s life. A Memorial Service will be at Vale Church on Thursday September 4 at 11:00 am. Rev. Ken Graham officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Maple Lawn Heath Center in Eureka, IL.
