Kenneth Walter Sturm

Kenneth was born January 17, 1929, in Artesia Township, IL to Walter and Helen (Hopmann) Sturm. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1957. He married the love of his life, Verda Irene Teske on March 27, 1954 in Onarga, IL. She passed away January 31, 2009. Kenneth was a corporate auditor for many years and traveled all over the world. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington.

He is survived by his seven children, Patricia (Wayne) Johnson of Hoffman Estates, IL, Dale (Shawna) Sturm of Wausau, WI, Pamela (Nelson) List of Braidwood, IL, Ronald (Pam) Sturm of Highland Park, IL, Allen Sturm of Glendale Heights, IL, Paul Sturm of Fox River Grove, IL and Paulette (Dan) Miller of Athens, AL; eleven grandchildren, Hannah Johnson, Kimberly Mikul, Josh Sturm, Collin Sturm, Jennifer Bratko, Jason List, Tamara Bohac, Laura Sturm, Amaris Sturm, Deanna Van Camp and Christopher Miller; thirteen great grandchildren, Avery Mikul, Kade Mikul, Eleanor Sturm, Wesley Sturm, Henry Sturm, Jackson Bratko, Sara Bratko, Hailey Bohac, Hunter Bohac, Alley Bohac, Wyatt Bohac, Levi Van Camp and Lily Van Camp; sister, Evelyn Rinnert of Colorado Springs, CO; and a special companion, Ruth Dettmering of Buckley, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Verda; one brother, Wilmer Sturm and one sister, Bernice Bruns.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2024, in East Lawn Funeral Home 1102 Airport Road, Bloomington, IL 61704. Entombment will follow the service at East Lawn Memorial Gardens where full military honors will be conducted.
