Kenneth "Gene" E Barlow

His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington with Pastor Ed Wright officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. prior to the service Wednesday at the memorial home.

Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to the family.

Gene was born on April 1, 1935 in Roodhouse, a son of Archie and Mildred Philips Epley. He married Marilyn J. Quiggins on Dec. 11, 1971. They enjoyed 44 years of marriage together before she preceded him in death on April 28, 2015.

He is survived by his children, Candy (Simon) Caldwell of Peoria, Cindy (Rod) Henson of Elk Horn, Ky., Dawn Ensign of Campbellsville, Ky., Tracy (Jessica) Wiser of Bloomington, Nikki (Keith) Cruson of Arrowsmith, and Debbie (Bruce) Barker of Bloomington; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bobbie Sue (Kenny) Yates of Mo.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth E. Barlow, Jr.; one brother; and one sister.

He was a Teamsters member, employed with Rowe Construction for many years, retiring in the early 2000s.

Gene was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
