June Atkins

Beverly June Atkins, 79, of Bloomington, passed away on Monday July 27, 2015 at her residence. She was born on February 21, 1936 in Normal to Jesse and Opal (Whitehouse) Stauffer. She married Howard Edwin Atkins on April 23, 1955.

Mrs. Atkins is survived by her children: Garrie (Avis) Atkins, Tina (Chuck) Evans, Sandy (Jeff) Aaberg all of Bloomington, Rick (Anna) Atkins of Kappa, and Vicky Atkins of Bloomington, five sisters: Arlene of Bloomington, Frances of Texas, Judy of Oregon, Kay of Kentucky and Robbin of Florida, twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one brother Billy.

June worked for Paul F. Beich Company as a floor girl in the caramel department and held the same position with Nestle, retiring after 38 years. She was a Union Steward with the Bakery and Confectionery Union. She was loved by everyone she met, especially her schnauzer Smokey.

Visitation will be at 2:00pm Saturday August 1 at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Road with the service to follow at 3:00pm and burial to follow at East Twin Grove Cemetery.
