Jerrell “Jerry” L. Roberts, 90, of Downs, passed away at 9:22 a.m. on Sunday February 5, 2023 at his residence and surrounded by his family.
He was born December 3, 1932 in Seymour, IN, the son of Clyde and Laura (Ault) Roberts. Jerrell graduated from Saybrook High School in the class of 1950 and married the love of his life, Bonnie J. Cronic on June 27, 1954 in Bloomington, IL. Jerry was a proud Navy veteran, who always kept busy. He worked for Eureka Co. for 47 years and was a faithful member of the LeRoy United Methodist Church as well as Bloomington Consistory. Jerry also enjoyed all the people that were involved in the founding of the Living Well Senior Center.
Surviving are his daughter, Tonya (Mark) Meins; son, Russell Roberts; grandchildren, Matthew Meins, Catharyn (Nick) Gilles, Nicole Lowe (Joshua), Joshua Roberts, Scott Roberts (Anndrea), Abbie Roberts (Garret Bronke); great-grandchildren, Colt Gilles, Haley Michaud (Ben), Briar Fish (Morgan), Brody Hanafin (Jade), Brayd Hanafin, BreElla Lowe, Cash Roberts, Caleb Roberts, Dawson Bronke; great-great grandson, Bransen Fish; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Bonnie; parents, Clyde and Laura Roberts; and 4 siblings.
Cremation rites have been accorded with East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington, IL. A public visitation will be held on March 10, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.n. at East Lawn Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Private inurnment will be held at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.
