He was born on September 11, 1936 in Carlock, IL to Sammie and Teresa (Marksteiner) Waller. He married Jackie Weaver on August 20, 1960 in Carlock. She survives.
Also surviving are their three children, Dave (Sally) Waller of Bloomington, Vicki Waller of Jefferson City, MO, and Robin (Nello) Picchietti of Hudson; five grandchildren, Austin (Megan) Waller of Wisconsin, Tyler Waller of Kentucky, Alex Waller of Missouri, Zach and Zoe Picchietti both of Hudson; one great-grandson, Jackson Waller; three siblings, Robert Waller and Roger Waller both of Carlock and Esther (Bob) Shaw of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Sam Waller.
Jim worked as a Cabinet maker with Custom Craft Cabinets and then as a Office Manager with Professional Electric Motor Repair. Jim was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears, golf and fast pitch softball. He also enjoyed going to his sons and grandson sporting events and working in his yard.
Jim's family would like to extend a special thank you the medical staff at Carle Bromenn and the Carle Hospice staff, for the wonderful care they provided Jim and his family.
A visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, July 5, 2024 At East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. A funeral service will be at 10 am on Saturday, July 6, 2024 with visitation from 9:30 until the start of the service at Eastview Christian Church in Normal. Entombment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington.
