

He was born September 20, 1935 in Bloomington, son of William Orville and Mildred Marie Rohde Sallade. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Paula Criswell; one granddaughter, Katherine Criswell; three sisters, Sandra Tipsord, LaVonne Hutchison and Linda Gawthorp.
Surviving are two sons, Randy Sallade of Champaign and Rick Sallade of Bloomington; three daughters, Pam (Alex) Sallade-Bardenshtein of Bloomington, Peg Sallade of Tinley Park and Holly (Jason) Harper of Midland, MI. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Mystery (Tyler) Barton, Michael Criswell, Shaffer Sallade, Sterling Sallade, Mateo Sallade and Javier Sallade and one sister, Pat Daugherty of LeRoy.
Jack was a graduate of Bloomington High School, where he was an all around athlete. Jack was proud to be a part of the 1953 Baseball Team that won second in State.
He worked as a meat cutter and was an avid Fighting Illini fan, as well as St. Louis Cardinals fan. Jack also enjoyed fishing and woodcarving.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington and the visitation will conclude with a short prayer service at 7 p.m. Cremation rites have been accorded.
